Brazos Pointe,
We are a church for our neighbors, the nations, and the next generation — guiding people to discover, develop, and deploy faith in Jesus. God has blessed us, entrusted us with much, and made us fruitful. Now He is calling us to even more!
That’s why our next step is called UP&OUT — because God is leading us to step up in love and step out in faith.
This means:
That’s why our next step is called UP&OUT — because God is leading us to step up in love and step out in faith.
This means:
- Stepping up in generosity—creating more space for more disciple-making.
- Stepping out in service—reinventing how we love and serve our neighbors.
UP&OUT isn’t just about a building—it’s about becoming the church God designed us to be. It’s more than a building, but it’s not less. Here you’ll find inspiration and information about the building portion of this vision: architectural renderings of the new spaces and refreshed campus, FAQs, and regular updates as we move forward together.
Brazos Pointe — let’s go UP&OUT!U&O Campaign FAQs
What is a capital campaign?
A capital campaign is a focused, church-wide effort to raise funds for a specific need beyond our regular annual ministry budget—such as building, renovating, expanding, or paying down debt.
Why are we doing this campaign?
We believe God has called us to invest in this building project to better serve our church family, our neighbors, and future generations. The primary reasons for this initiative are:
- More age-appropriate environments for our growing, changing Next Gen Ministries; new spaces for Junior High and Preteen, creating more space for Special Needs and Elementary on Sundays. Additionally, space will be created for rec and Small Groups for Wednesday nights
- On-site “Living Rooms,” to operate as classrooms where more people will be able to connect with classes and Small Groups, even some on Sunday mornings
- A dedicated Counseling Center, bringing better care closer for our church, other local churches, and our community
- 10% of funds raised through this campaign will be given away as a tithe to our global and local missions and church planting partners (see more below)
- Additionally, we are planning for necessary maintenance projects to our existing facilities (exterior and interior paint, interior carpet, Worship Center AV updates, etc.)
How much are we trying to raise?
Our goal is to raise an additional 3.5-4 million dollars over the next 3 years. This goal is prayerfully set to match the scope of the projects and our church’s capacity.
How is this different from regular giving?
Your regular giving to the budget fund goes to support all our ongoing ministries and operations. Those too are growing and can’t stop just because we are in a building season. Gifts and pledges to UP&OUT are above your regular giving and for a limited commitment time of three years.
Why will we give a 10% tithe from this campaign?
Giving away a tithe, or 10% of our gifts toward the building program reinforces our values of an outward focus and sacrificial generosity, and illustrates our belief that when we are generous toward others God will provide all we need as well. This has been our practice with capital campaigns throughout the life of our church, and it has been a great blessing to us and others.
The UP&OUT Campaign tithe will be sacrificially given to:
· 50% International Mission Board
· 20% North American Mission Board
· 5% Reach Texas (Church Planting)
· 25% Special Projects – directly benefiting Brazos Pointe’s ongoing Global Partners
How long is the campaign?
We are asking for commitments over 3 years. This allows everyone to prayerfully consider a generous pledge and spread it out over time
How can I give?
You can give by:
- Making a pledge and giving weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually
- Giving one-time gifts
- Giving by cash, check, and online
- Contributing appreciated assets (stocks, crypto, etc.)
- Tax-free from an IRA for donors 70.5 and older
o Donors 73 and older use these donations for RMDs
- For more information or giving questions contact Kirk Willson at kwillson@brazospointe.com
How will I know how much to give?
Questions like this are best decided by a combination of prayer and self-study. Begin with prayer and simply ask God to show you how you can make a significant gift in this endeavor. You might even choose to fast one day each week to intensify your prayers. Do this with your spouse if you are married. As you pray, also make an honest assessment of your financial condition. A meaningful gift or pledge may require a change of priorities on your part. This will likely be a time of sacrifice for most of our families.
Can I change my pledge later?
Yes. We understand that circumstances change. If you need to adjust your commitment, simply let the finance office at Brazos Pointe know.
What if I feel like my gift is too small?
Every gift matters! God is at work, and together our generosity will make this vision possible.
What if we don’t reach the goal?
We can finance a portion of the needed funds and use some funds from savings. If pledges fall significantly short, we will adjust the project scope responsibly. Our leadership is committed to good stewardship and transparency throughout the process. We will not finance or fund from savings more than is prudent for our current budget.
How will progress be communicated?
We’ll provide regular updates on giving, construction, and milestones through worship services and other avenues.
When will we see results?
Depending on giving, approvals, and architectural timelines, we hope to begin construction in the first quarter of 2026.
U&O Building FAQs
Where will this new building be located?
Adjacent to the Worship Center on the existing raised pad. (See Images below)
How big is the new building going to be?
Early drawings and planning create an additional 13,500 sq. ft. of space in the new construction.
- About 5,500 sq. ft. for Next Gen Ministries (multi use for Large Group and recreation)
- About 4,000 sq. ft. for the Living Rooms (meeting spaces for Small Groups and classes)
- About 4,000 sq. ft. for the Counseling Center and a Conference Room
How long will construction take?
The estimated construction timeline is 10-12 months from the start of the project.
With a portion of the building being 2 stories, does it need an elevator?
No. An elevator is not required, and based on the limited size of the second floor, installation and maintenance costs, and use of the new space we are choosing to not have one. We can make accommodations on the first floor and in the existing buildings for any activities that would occur on the second floor.
Will the building be attached or detached?
The new building will be detached from the existing construction.
