2 Kings Chapter 7 tells the story of four lepers
with nothing to lose. Their city was surrounded, everyone was starving, and the four friends
were slowing dying from leprosy. Desperate for food, they snuck outside the city walls hoping
the invading army would have mercy on them
and give them something to eat. But what the lepers didn’t know was that during the night,
God had caused the army to flee. The soldiers
left behind all their supplies, food, and drink.
The starving men started to feast on the
leftovers when they suddenly came to a
realization.
Then they said to each other, "We're not
doing right. This is a day of good news and
we are keeping it to ourselves. If we wait
until daylight, punishment will overtake us. Let's go at once and report this to the
royal palace."
2 Kings 7:9
Like the lepers who discovered the feast outside the city walls, some news is too good to keep secret. Awaken is a group of students committed to waking up their friends to the Good News of Jesus Christ. It’s all about developing students
of influence.
