Greg Pickering
Lead Pastor
|
My wife Kathy and I have raised our family in Lake Jackson. Our oldest son Michael is a junior at Texas A &M majoring in Industrial Distribution. Jeff, who plays drums in the weekend services, is a senior at Brazoswood H.S. and plans to join Michael at A&M in the fall.
I came to BPF because...
After almost two decades as a Student Minister, I developed a passion to create an engaging and relevant church experience for students who usually dropped out of church after graduating. I was privileged to have that opportunity when the idea for a "church for the unchurched" was born in the hearts of several other like minded folks back in 2001.
What I love about being a part of BPF...
Life change! When I can be a catalyst for someone taking a step of faith and then see the resulting change in their heart, their perspective, and often their circumstances, I get energized. I also love the team of folks God has gathered around me.
In my spare time...
I really enjoy hanging out with my family. Whether it's going to a ball game, out to dinner, traveling somewhere or working on a project around the house, I just like doing things with them. When I need a little "down time" I enjoy reading or watching shows like C.S.I., Law & Order or Without a Trace.
Did you know???
My family eats rice crispie treats from a bowl.

Jason Beams
Worship Pastor
|
Married to Stephanie. We have 3 children Brynlee is 6, Aubrey is 3, and Lawson is 1.
Why I came to BPF…
Stephanie and I came to BPF because we wanted to be a part of church that had a heart for reaching, ministering to, and loving people whether churched or unchurched. We wanted to go where God was leading and be a part of what God is doing here.
What I love about BPF…
I love the outward focus! Being a worship leader most of my life I have seen churches become way too inward focused and begin thinking that church is all about what happens in the building on the weekend. But truly encountering God in worship should push us to love and serve people. God is doing some great things here as we are becoming more outward focused.
In my spare time, I love…
Playing with my kids. Swingsets, walks, talks, books and wrestling on the floor consume most of my leisure time and I love every minute of it! Also, I love golf, softball, baseball season, and reading.
Did you know…
I am a registered (card carrying) Choctaw Indian.

Director of Children's Ministry
|
I have been married to my husband Jerry for over 30 years. We have two children Jeremy and Kristen. Jeremy lives with his wife in Bryan and Kristen is working and living in the Clear Lake area.
When I came to BPF...
We were one of the founding families. We had a heart to do church in a different way and be able to reach people that did not know God.
What I love about BPF...
I love seeing life through the eyes of kids. I love creating environments where the kids can experience God and know that God is real and that he loves them.
In my spare time, I...
Decorate my house when I have the money and spend time with friends.

When I came to BPF...
I was a late addition to the Plant Team in 2001 and came on board as the Worship Pastor. Two and a half years ago I stepped down from that role and took on the responsibilities as the Small Groups Pastor. I've been in full-time minstry for the past 30 years.
What I love about my job at BPF...
I love when the light comes on in people's hearts and they see their place in the Big Picture of God's world. It's then that they kind of take a big deep breath and say, "Ahhhh .... I belong!"
In my spare time, I like...
Anything related to baseball!!! I have coached baseball since 1992 nearly every year. I love teaching and encouraging the players. I love watching baseball and I'm a "die hard Astros fan"! However, I love to WATCH baseball, not TALK baseball. Oh yeah, I also attempt to play golf.
Did you know???
I was a Student Minister for 24 years and a Worship Leader for 28 years. I guess not too many people know that.
