The Apostle Paul gives us an example of living a catalyst lifestyle. He spoke to his fellow Jews using the Hebrew Scriptures. But he reasoned with the Greeks by referring to their idols and poets.
"While Paul was waiting for them in Athens , he was deeply troubled by all the idols he saw everywhere in the city. He went to the synagogue to debate with the Jews and the God-fearing Gentiles, and he spoke daily in the public square to all who happened to be there." Acts 17:16-17 (NLT)
We speak to the people of our day using images and words we all understand; like music and movies.
From a catalyst lifestyle, we do three things as a church.
Once a week we gather together for the Weekend Experience. It includes worship together for the whole church on Sunday mornings, All Stars and Sonshine Park for the children, the Journey for Jr. and Sr. High Students on Sunday night, and a host of opportunities for people to serve.
The next part of our strategy is Adult and Student Small Groups. We experience life together as we study and discuss the Bible in people's homes. Small Groups also look for opportunities to serve together, which is our third strategy step.
God has uniquely shaped everyone to serve in Volunteer Ministry. (Learn more at DYD) Whether it's together with their Small Group, with a team at the weekend experience, or even somewhere Outside The Walls of BPF, we desire to equip and encourage everyone to find their place of service. At Brazos Pointe Fellowship everybody serves.
BPF has a clear purpose – guiding people to take their next step with God. Because following Christ is more a journey than a destination, everybody has a next step, even those who haven't yet crossed over the line of faith. To help people take those next steps we follow a simple strategy.
It begins with encouraging everyone to live a Catalyst lifestyle in the community.
